Parent University 2014 & Costume Dance
Please join your Crystal Lake Family at our annual Parent University 2014 and Costume Dance on Saturday, October 25 at 9:00 AM for food, prizes, workshops, and much more.
Students who bring their parents will receive a discounted dance ticket. All participants can dress in costume according to the season.
Parents will attend workshops that will enrich their knowledge and understanding of the middle school child and ways to help them cope with the changes they are encountering.
Lunch is free and we are offering prizes and give aways all day long. We will also have, live music, face painting and the blood mobile on site. You don’t want to miss this spectacular event, so mark your calendar!!!
Dismissal will be at noon. We hope to see you there!!!

We are looking for parents and community members to assist us in removing shrubbery in order to make space for our edible garden. So bring your shovels, gardening tools, gloves, wheel barrels and closed toe shoes to our garden excavation project on October 25th, at 12:00 PM, immediately following Parent University. We will meet between the science building and the main school building. All participants are free to take any plants removed from this area home. We look forward to seeing you there. Chili's Family Nights
Crystal Lake Middle is teaming up with Chili's (on the southwest corner of Copans and Federal) each Monday of the month for family give backs. Each grade level will have a specific day to show their pride and support for CLMS. 10% of all proceeds will be donated back to CLMS. The 6th hour that shows the highest attendance during their grade level night will be given a prize. Flyers will be passed out as the dates approach but they are available below for your convenience.

The PTSA/SAC/SAF Meetings are held on 4th Tuesday of the month unless otherwise stated. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, October 28 at 6:00 PM upstairs in the Literacy Suite. Important information will be shared for the 2014-15 school year including the SMART Bond initiative from the School Board of Broward County. Come out to learn more about your child’s school and how you can make a difference. Your presence is encouraged and greatly appreciated.

Crystal Lake will have their Mini Magnet Showcase November 12, 2014, from 6-7:30 PM
Incoming 6th grade students and their parents will have the opportunity to view student-made projects and inventions, meet World Languages and Science and Pre-Engineering teachers and discuss the curricula for magnet courses.
8th grade students and their parents will have the opportunity to visit high school magnet booths to obtain more information pertaining to the high schools' magnet themes.
The high schools are: Atlantic Technical College and High School, Blanche Ely, Boyd Anderson, Deerfield, Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, South Plantation.
The magnet application window is from December 1, 2014 to February 11, 2015. Applications will be online starting December 1. Please contact the magnet office at 754-322-3150, if you have any questions.
