RED RIBBON WEEK
This week is Red Ribbon Week and our theme is “Love Yourself and Be Drug Free to Dominate the BAFS.”
Monday, Oct. 27 - Cougar Pride Day.
Tuesday, Oct. 28 - Crazy Sock Day. Wear your crazy, silly socks.
Wednesday, Oct. 29 - Drug Free Team Day- Sports shirts and uniform bottoms.
Thursday, Oct. 30 - Wear Red Day. Red shirts and uniform bottoms.
Friday, Oct. 31 - Follow Your Dream Day. Dress in your future career attire.
All dress attire this week must meet the SBBC dress code policy.
BAFS 1 TESTING
This week, our students will be taking The Broward Assessment of Florida Standards 1. (BAFS 1)
Testing will take place Monday through Friday.
Parents, please make sure your children are rested, eat a good breakfast, and get to school on time.
Please see the attached schedule for testing dates, times, and subjects.
Crystal Lake will have their Mini Magnet Showcase November 12, 2014, from 6-7:30 PM
Incoming 6th grade students and their parents will have the opportunity to view student-made projects and inventions, meet World Languages and Science and Pre-Engineering teachers and discuss the curricula for magnet courses.
8th grade students and their parents will have the opportunity to visit high school magnet booths to obtain more information pertaining to the high schools' magnet themes.
The high schools are: Atlantic Technical College and High School, Blanche Ely, Boyd Anderson, Deerfield, Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, South Plantation.
The magnet application window is from December 1, 2014 to February 11, 2015. Applications will be online starting December 1. Please contact the magnet office at 754-322-3150, if you have any questions.

MODS Afterschool Enrichment Program
SIXTH GRADE PARENTS:
If you are interested in having your child join our STEM & The Museum of Discovery and Science Afterschool Enrichment Program, please have them stop by Room 155 and pick-up an application from Ms. Begley. The program spaces are limited and filling up fast so don’t miss out. This program runs Monday through Thursday from 4 PM – 6 PM and transportation will NOT be provided.
