URGENT REVISION TO FSA in Writing

FSA (Florida Standards Assessment) in Writing on Monday March 9, 2015
This is a reminder that ALL 6th, 7th & 8th grade students will be participating in the FSA Writing Assessment on MONDAY, March 9. The assessment is 120 minutes in length. SIXTH & SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS will take the paper based writing assessment.
EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS will be taking the computer based writing assessment.
We strongly encourage you to make sure that your child is at school to take the assessment. Your child’s ELA (English-Language Arts) score will be based on BOTH the Writing Assessment and the Reading Assessment. If he/she misses either writing or reading, they will not receive an ELA score.
So, make sure that your gets plenty of rest, eats breakfast and arrives to school on time on Wednesday, March 4, for the FSA Writing Assessment

The next game of the 2014-2015 school year is Thursday, March 5 vs. Rickards Middle at 4:00 PM.

6th Grade Parents - Immunizations
All incoming seventh grade students MUST have their immunizations complete and up to date prior to Monday, August 24, 2015, the first day of the 2015-2016 school year.
The Broward County Health Department and Broward County Schools are partnering to provide FREE vaccines required school immunization shots to your child at Crystal Lake Middle School during the school day in March, at no cost to you. On Wednesday, February 17, 2015, a parent permission form was sent home with your child for your signature. Please be advised that your child will NOT be admitted to school on August 24, 2015, if we do not have an updated immunization record on file.
If your child has already been immunized, please provide the school with the original immunization record given by the health practitioner.
The next session of STARS Camp will be held on Saturday, March 7, from 8:30 AM to Noon. This is an extended learning opportunity to help students improve in reading, writing, math, science, civics and to offer additional preparation for the Florida Standards Assessment. Arrival time for ALL students is 8:30. Students who are registered for STARS are "ALL SET" and ready for camp. If you did not fill out a registration form, you must arrive with your child to register them for camp prior to them attending. Registration forms are also in the front office and can be returned to Mrs. Townsley.
IMPORTANT!!!! We are not providing transportation, so please arrange to have your child picked up promptly at 12:00 PM.
8th Grade College Tour
Eighth grade parents: Your student has a wonderful opportunity to attend the 2015 CLMS College Tour. A flyer and parent field trip permission form was sent home last week. The trip is March 18 through the 20 and includes visits to five major universities in Florida and culminates with a fun visit to Universal Studios. Space is limited so DON’T MISS OUT!!!
